1. How to accept your offer

For students who have applied via a migration agent, your offer letter has been sent to your agent directly. For students who have applied direct, a copy of your offer letter has been sent to the personal email provided at the time of application. You will need to accept your offer to start your journey with us. Here are the steps that you need to follow.

It is important that you check and confirm that all personal, course, campus and terms and conditions noted in your Offer Letter have been checked. If you find an error in this information, please contact your agent or International Admissions and Recruitment Support Team.

Step 2: Sign your Offer Letter
Once you have read the Written Agreement, including the Terms and Conditions, please sign and return both the Offer Letter and Written Agreement to your agent, or if applying direct, please email: International Admissions

2. Finalising your application

Step 1: Provide evidence that you have met all conditions of your Offer Letter (if applicable)
If your Offer Letter lists conditions, you will need to provide further evidence to demonstrate that you have met the course entry requirements before making payment. The conditions are specified in the Offer Letter.
To demonstrate that you meet the conditions you will need to provide certified documentation - see below checklist for all required documentation required.

Step 2: Email required documents
Please ensure that you send the following documents:

• Certified copy of academic transcripts
• Certified copy of English language proficiency
• Certified copy of your passport
• Resume (if your course requires work experience for entry)
• Current Overseas Health Cover (this must include the expiry date)
• Visa (or bridging Visa)
• Credit Transfer application (including subject outlines) if required
• Accommodation Welfare Plan if you are under 18 years of age

Please send your completed documents, quoting your Student ID via email to your migration agent. You may also email your documents to International Admissions.

Step 3: Payment options for course deposit
Once you have met all entry requirements and listed conditions, please proceed to process your course deposit payment. Please read the Torrens University student fees policy or the Think Education student fees policy, as well as fee information listed in the Terms and Conditions provided in your offer letter, before paying your deposit.

To pay your tuition deposit, you can use one of the payment methods below. Please ensure that you quote your student number.

Online payments: Please use the online portal to submit your payment online via payment gateway Please note that we do not accept Amex or Diners card payments. Also, a non-refundable surcharge applies to all card payments as per the table below.

Once you have paid, please email a copy of your payment advice to your agent or to intadmissions@torrens.edu.au and include your student number in the correspondence.

Step 4: Enrol
Once you have completed the steps above, Torrens University Australia or Think Education will secure your place in the course and issue an Electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCOE). This document is required in your student visa application.

Whilst you may have received your eCOE, this may not mean that all enrolment documents and/or payment has been received. Before you can enrol into subjects, you will need to ensure that Torrens University Australia has received all relevant entry documentation as well as a full course deposit payment. Once your application is complete, you will receive enrolment instructions as well as student email details. If you have not received this information please contact us on 1300 575 803 or email intadmissions@torrens.edu.au for assistance in finalising your application.

4. Course structure and subject selection

When selecting your subjects, it is recommended that you follow the course structure. To find out how to do this, follow the steps below or watch the tutorial videos:

View your course structure
1. View your course structure on the Student Hub. Navigate to the right hand side and select your faculty. Click on your course to download the course structure. This includes the recommended subjects for your course. Make sure to keep this handy for the next steps.

2. To select your subjects, go to the Student Portal. You will need to select 'student access' and log in with your student email address and password.

3. From the landing page, click subject selection.

4. Click register for classes. Select the study period (e.g. Trimester 3, HE 2021) and your course, then continue.

5. Select your next subject/s, as they align with your course structure. You must select one subject at a time.
Important note: International students that are on an Australian student visa are required to select a full-time study load and maintain this for the duration of their course.

• All subjects are listed in the left column. Any marked with a green dot are those you have completed, have credit for, or are currently enroled in. Meeting time refers to your class time.
• All class options for the subject will appear in the top right column.
• This will show options for all campuses.
• You can view more information on your subject by clicking on the subject name. This includes the subject description, prerequisites and lecturer.

Please make sure you enrol in subjects for your relevant campus only. Your campus can be found on your Offer Letter.

• Offshore students enroled at a campus should select the online subjects for their campus. E.g. Ultimo Campus – Online
• Offshore students not enroled at a campus should select online only subjects.

It is important to look at the Building and Room details. Unless it says ‘online’ you are expected to attend an on-campus class if campuses are open. If you encounter any error messages when trying to enrol, please take a screenshot and email this (along with your Student ID number) to our International Student Advisors.

6. Add the class you want

7. Click submit to finalise your class registration. You can do this after each subject if you prefer. Then you will receive your timetable. Examples of timetable layouts are available on the student hub.

5. Access your Learning Platforms

Here are all the important platforms you will use throughout your studies with us.

Learning Portal (Blackboard)
Blackboard is your online learning classroom. Here, you will attend online lectures if you are studying online. You can also watch recorded lectures on Blackboard if you missed a class, or want to re-watch a lesson.

You can access Blackboard by signing in with your student email and password.

Need help logging in?
If you require further support in using Blackboard, or logging in, you can contact our friendly Blackboard Team via the Student Hub where you can submit a question or request a virtual one on one training session.

Student Hub
Keep up-to-date with important events, key dates, workshops, campus information, as well as information about your course. The Student Hub provides quick access to your Student Portal, Student Email and Blackboard.

Student Portal
The Student Portal allows you to enrol into your subjects, manage your timetable, update contact details, view grades, request academic transcripts and make any payments.

8. Get to know your campus

We encourage international students to take a tour of one of our campuses, either in person or virtually. It is a great opportunity to view our facilities, meet our academics and hear from our support staff.

11. Frequently Asked Questions

When is Orientation?
All students are required to attend Orientation prior to commencing in their first intake. Details of Orientation will be shared with you via email in the lead-up to the intake start date. Alternatively please monitor our Orientation page on the Student Hub.

Where can I view my student calendar?
Our student calendar lists key academic dates, public holidays and other important dates for the whole year. You can access it on your Student Portal, the Student Hub, or via the following QR code.

How do I contact Student Services?
Students are always welcome to visit the Student Services desk and request to speak with a Student Services Advisor. We also encourage students to lodge enquiries via email.

Where can I see the required software and equipment requirements for my course?
Get in touch with your International Student Advisor or Program Director who will be able to provide specific details.

Who do I speak to about fees?
Our finance department can help with your fee enquiries. You can contact them via email.

How do I pay my course deposit and fees?
International students are required to pre-pay a course deposit prior to enrolment. Students can make payments quoting their Student ID as per the details listed in their Offer Letter. Further information on how to pay fees, how to read invoices and credits, refunds and understanding due date information can be found on the Student Hub Student Fees page.

What is the deadline to pay my course fees as an international student?
The payment due date for international students is 14 days prior to the commencement of the study period, also known as the liability deadline. This is also the last day international students are able to withdraw from subjects without being charged. Failure to pay fees on time means a late payment fee of AUD$100 may apply.

Where can I find policies and procedures?
Head to the Torrens University Australia or Think Education websites to read our policies and procedures and download any necessary application forms.

When will I receive my health care card from Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)?
Your Health Care card is ordered once you are enroled. It normally takes up to 21 days to be delivered to your nominated address or to the University. If your address is temporary and you have elected to have your card sent to the campus, it can be collected at Student Services. Notices will be emailed when they arrive. Once received, you will need to activate the card.

What happens after I select subjets and register for classes?
After you have successfully registered in your classes, you will receive your invoice via your Office 365 student email. You will see the tuition fee amount and due date on the invoice. If you have paid in advance you will still receive an invoice, but it will say that you owe AUD$0.00. Please make sure you check the amount owing.
If you need to drop a subject, change to another class or have any issues, please visit the Student Hub for more details on next steps. It is important to note that students may be liable for any fees if changing subject enrolment late.

What if I don’t know which subjects to select?
See step 4 for information of which subjects we recommend. Our Success Coaches can also provide advice on subject selection and course progression. Work together to develop study plans and map out further study pathways.

What are the rules for online studies for International Students on an Australian Student Visa?
International students must not enrol in more than one-third (33%) of online subjects over their course and must study at least one face-to-face subject each study period. Most face-to-face courses are also available online. Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, authorities have provided exceptions to the usual face-to-face learning requirements. International students on a student visa are required to study full time, i.e. the student must complete a minimum of 1.0 EFTSL of study per year.
